Signs of Bladder Cancer

There are a number of signs of bladder cancer suggested by a cursory review of online literature.  These sources do not substitute for medical advice from a qualified doctor.   They are helpful in educating the public on health issues and are best used so that you know the right questions to ask when you do meet with your doctor.

Based upon a cursory online review of the medical information sites, it appears that the signs of bladder cancer are often indicated by changes in urine or urine patterns including painful sensations during urination, frequent urination, inability to urinate, or general change in urine habits.  Blood in the urine is the best indicator of bladder cancer.  Unfortunately, the blood is often not detectable by the naked eye.  Fortunately, this can be tested with a simple blood test.  Like blood in the urine, discolored urine (often pink or orange) is also an indicator of bladder cancer.   Lower back or abdominal pain may also be an indicator particularly when there are no prior such issues.  There are other indicators as well which again should be discussed thoroughly with your doctor.

If you have any of these indicators of bladder cancer, you should contact your doctor immediately.  In light of the mounting evidence of the relationship between Actos and bladder cancer, you should discuss with your doctor the risks of continued use of Actos even if you do not have symptoms.  Delay in treatment can have fatal consequences and prevention is always the best course of action.  In addition, in the event that you are taking Actos and suffer any of these symptoms, then your doctor needs to know immediately so he or she can advise you appropriately.
