DWI patrols are out in force during the Holidays in New Mexico, particularly in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. This means you should fully expect unexpected roadblocks. There will also be the super blitz again meaning increased DWI patrol units on the roads.

In short, the risks are high and the consequences potentially much more serious during the holidays. For example, many of the get together’s involve family. Family involves children. Children and DWI is deadly serious. A DWI with a child passenger will be charged as felony child abuse. And the charges will be aggressively pursued by the District Attorney.
